Rev. Barima Appiah-Dankwa was born in the early 1950's at Asuom in the Eastern Region of Ghana. From a very tender age, he developed a special interest for the Environment, Science and Technolgy, and this shaped his educational path. He spent his early school years at the Presbyterian Primary and Middle Schools at Asuom from 1959 to 1968 where he earned his Middle School Leaving Certificate.
He spent the years after Middle School as an Apprentice Printer at the Presbyterian Press, Accra between 1971 - 1973 and went on to serve as a Clerical Messenger, Registrar-General’s Department, Accra from 1973 - 1976. His quest for knowledge and scholarship led him to enroll at the School of Hygiene, Tamale -Ghana, where he earned a Certificate in Environmental Health. He returned to professional life to serve as an Environmental Health Officer at the Ministry of Health from 1978 to 1989.
"Cleanliness is next to godliness" and it came as no surprise, therefore, when the Lord transformed Rev. Appiah-Dankwa's profession of "cleaning the environment" to one of "cleansing the heart and soul for Christ".
Rev. Barima Appiah-Dankwa is an ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and has since availed himself of the calling to the Ministry, serving faithfully in both religious and secular fronts, both in Ghana and abroad. As a Minister, he has a particular interest and holds many certifications in the special training of Children and Youth.
Before taking over as the Minister-In-Charge of the North America District this 2012, he was the Minister-In-Charge of the Nsukwao - Koforidua District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
Rev. Barima Appiah-Dankwa is happily married to the love of his life, Mercy, and together they have raised three daughters and a son, namely
